OUR SUSTAINABILITY VISION
DESIGN WITH A CAUSE
We strive to realise visionary strategies grounded in human-centric design. Guided by our philosophy, “Design with a Cause”, we are committed to enabling responsible economies of scale that benefit All. As an employee-owned research and design studio, our purpose is to create inclusive experiences stemming from diverse perspectives. Embedded within is a commitment to engaging with layers of stakeholders and ground-up communities to co-create participatory phase plans for long-term impact.
OUR APPROACH
WY-TO GREEN COMMITMENTS
WY-TO advances toward life-centric design through the pillars of Planet, People, and Places. Our developed 6 Green Commitments are also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations, and our ‘Well-being for All’ research framework. They frame our design benchmarks for an all-encompassing approach. Accordingly, enabling our Team to take grounded, systemic steps in designing for innovation and project longevity. Informed by Biophilic Design principles, we craft empathetic solutions across scales and typologies to enable urban experiences for life to thrive!

GREEN COMMITMENT #1
URBAN ECOLOGY STRATEGIES
A paradigm approach to designing cities of the future.
Devising strategies for our cities through Urban Ecology redefines conventional urban models. By viewing the built environment as a living ecosystem, our methodology leverages ecosystem-based approaches (EbA) that integrate the Three Pillars of Sustainability in providing holistic management of societal and environmental challenges. Through systemic design, we move beyond typical city-making optics to prioritise interdependent relationships – converging all life in establishing agile, scalable and enduring frameworks for life-centric urbanism.
GREEN COMMITMENT #2
NATURAL SYSTEMS
Designing responsibly for enhanced liveability through nature-inspired processes.
Rooted in our methodology is Nature. In designing to sustain, restore and encourage life to thrive in the urban fabric, we inform our strategies with Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Microclimates are nurtured across scales to achieve ecological equilibrium and align with broader climate agendas. Whether applied as a tool for enhanced spatial quality or as a dynamic Blue-Green Infrastructure to manage density in Sponge Cities, we centre our intent to increase liveability for All through nature-inspired systems.
GREEN COMMITMENT #3
REGENERATIVE APPROACHES
Championing well-balanced prosperity.
Central to our commitment is enabling regenerative practices in all typologies. By shifting our focus toward renewing, repurposing, and revitalising neighbourhoods, we innovate to prioritise shared identities. New blueprints are consciously planned to remain adaptable for evolving future landscapes. Brownfield sites are reimagined by interdependent relationship anchors – integrating People and Planet to renew opportunities for robust self-sustaining Places.
GREEN COMMITMENT #4
WELL-BEING ADVOCACY
Healthy cities, happier places.
Integral to our design process is ensuring well-being as a fundamental right for all. Guided by our published research, Well-being for All, our toolkit defines scales of interventions and aims to shape inclusive, accessible and equitable environments – broadly championing access to affordable housing and enabling healthy and communal spaces through Urban Design Guidelines. More than a macro evaluation, our research framework targets holistic strategies to shape happy cities by converging top-down policies with ground-up actions. Communities are integrated as essential stakeholders of the wider ecosystem. Advancing our advocacy, we continue to actively engage different groups with Well-being workshops regionally.
GREEN COMMITMENT #5
PROGRESSIVE PARTNERSHIP
Spirited collaborations for innovative interdisciplinary success.
Glocalisation allows built environments to grow while maintaining distinctive place identities. Guided by our philosophy, “Design with A Cause”, we combine research and best practices with global precedents to inspire fruitful engagements with a diverse network of contributors – decision-makers, collaborators and partners, craftsmen and builders, and end-users. This cross-pollination of expertise opens up multichannel opportunities – enabling different actors to innovate, contribute to new possibilities and push design boundaries in cultivating long-term, rewarding partnerships.
GREEN COMMITMENT #6
RESILIENT COMMUNITIES
Co-creating enduring ecosystems.
Urban resilience is deeply reliant on the strength of the community. We approach city planning and design as catalysts to empower people. Our strategies carve out spaces to gather, diversity to flourish, and communities to grow. By translating these values into built places and generalising housing security as the foundational anchor for human rights, we design for social networks that can weather challenging shifts. A sense of agency is thus cultivated to inspire communities to become active stewards of their neighbourhoods. Ultimately sparking Space-to-Place transformation with resonant urban encounters with deeper attachment.
