TALKS ON ARCHITECTURE & BEYOND-PUBLICATION
The story behind TAB series began when we approach Cosentino to curate a year-long series of talks in Singapore, covering the areas of architecture and built environment. We invited makers and thinkers to communicate their ideas around the quarterly themes of Eco-system, Materiality, Typology and Human Factor. Organised as a monthly event throughout 2019, it initiated insightful discussions on what is architecture in the Singapore context, innovative design solutions and, more importantly, showcased the power of well-designed spaces and their radical impact on life, human interaction and society. REDEFINING PLAYSCAPES
A playscape is a playful landscape that is enjoyed by all citizens from all walks of life and ages in a very inclusive and generous way. More importantly, playscapes are non-intimidating and they offer a wide range of open-ended play options that enable everyone to interact, be creative and use their imagination with no sense of competition or hierarchy. Playscapes increase emotional, cognitive, and motor improvements and ultimately contribute to social participation, quality of life and well-being. ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN WEEK 0.3
The Architectural Design Week 2020 Seminar presents the topic of “Emerging Ideal Third Places: Revitalizing and Transforming Abandoned Places”. As cities in Indonesia continue to face rapid urbanization, places for urban communities to interact appears to be lower in the development priority. In light of the ongoing pandemic, many workplaces and institutions have implemented telecommuting. Studies have shown that prolonged period of isolation can affect one’s mental health, hence the need for urban third places where people can gather and interact safely is more important than ever.
The seminar touches the role of architects and relevant collaborators in transforming abandoned or unregulated places in the cities, and Yann Follain shares about how third places can be revitalized, taking into account the implementation and suitable social distancing measures for our urbanscapes.

HUMAN-CENTRIC APPROACH FOR INCLUSIVE SPACE APPROPRIATION. Human Interaction Design is essential to Design Domain at large. In the current trying times, it is even more important for designers to remain connected with the end-users and to ensure a sense of “Human Dimension” in their design. It needs to feel real from aesthetics to interactions to motion (perceived and real) to Emotional Connection.
The first step is saying it out loud: “Humans come first.”. WY-TO- MAY 2020
