Entering into the world of Andy Warhol is like going through the looking-glass in Alice in Wonderland. Opening a door may bring you 10,000 miles away into another dimension with unexpected sensorial experiences. The doors seem to look the same but their slight variations indicate a plethora of sub-entities in the manner of Russian dolls. This is what this Exhibition is all about: a true spatial experience to get closer to the Artist.

As a virtuoso, Andy Warhol created art through all types of technical tools and medium so as to push away the boundaries of his own environment. The tools were countless and techniques were vast to explore further his fascination of repetition of identical elements. The story telling has been built around this motto: the Man behind the Icon, his ceaseless artistic quests.

Combining one of the most influential Artist of the 20th of century obsessed with square and series to one of the most iconic Architecture masterpiece of Singapore where all is about curve and uniqueness, the challenge is certainly high. But the result should be even greater to magnify those antinomic entities. The laws of attraction principles can be here verified where like attracts like in a complementary phenomenon. The visitor experience remains simple and easily accessible as a matter of fact.

The detailed study of the building reveals a consistency and similarity in the layout. A system of repetition of identical elements emerges from this analysis. The exhibits are inserted in a logical and normative way that embodies a strong relationship between the Artworks and the building. The common denominator acts as breadcrumb along the exhibition. Visitors follow the story easily due to the consistency in the architectural vocabulary.

From grid to frame, the recurrent spatial proportions and dimensions accompany this treasure hunt. Elements are repeated, mirrored and adapted to each gallery conditions where colors dance with light to emphasize the discourse. Beyond the repetition of identical portal frames and metallic structure, iconic design elements can be perceived as moment of attraction and engage the public. Those landmarks punctuate the sequence to excite the visitor and address various audiences. Along the exhibition, we can learn, play, dance, read, touch, listen, watch, feel, run and experience. Everyone can find his own pearl in this ocean of emotions and senses.

Conceived as a journey into the Pop Icon environment, Andy Warhol 15 minutes eternal is for sure an experience in itself that leaves you an aftertaste of pink candy.

La narration s’est édifiée autour de cette devise: l’ homme derrière l’icône, ses éternelles quêtes artistiques

Découvrir l’œuvre d’Andy Warhol donne le sentiment intense de traverser le miroir d’Alice au pays des merveilles. Ouvrir une porte peut vous amener à des milliers de kilomètres ou dans une autre dimension, au cœur d’une expérience sensorielle inattendue. À la manière des poupées russes, chaque porte révèle un univers aussi différent que complexe.

Tel un virtuose, Andy Warhol a créé un art qui exploite toutes sortes d’outils et de moyens techniques, pour aller au-delà de la frontière qui sépare la réalité de l’imaginaire. Les procédés qu’il utilise sont innombrables et infinis pour satisfaire sa fascination pour les techniques de reproduction des images.

La narration de cette exposition s’est construite autour de ce thème: l’incessante quête artistique d’un homme devenu une icône.

Le défi de cette exposition est de parvenir à combiner l’un des artistes les plus influents du 20e siècle, dont le travail se fonde sur le pouvoir de l’image et de la répétition des formes carrées, avec l’une des œuvres architecturales emblématiques de Singapour, le ArtScience Museum, dont la conception singulière, en forme de fleur de Lotus, se définit tout en courbe. Le résultat est une réussite qui défie les lois de l’attraction. En alliant ces deux formes antinomiques – les murs arrondis des galeries et les formes quadrangulaires des œuvres de Warhol – une juxtaposition et un assemblage complémentaires se créent qui permet aux visiteurs de se déplacer dans un espace d’exposition clairement délimité.
