Design as an accessibility tool
“A Day in the Life” was conceptualized to bring forth design significance in enabling our lives. Each recipient of the Good Design Research initiative is curated in close reference to how a day is lived through in the Morning, Afternoon, and Night.
The theme is further distilled into the categories of “Purpose”, “Practice” and “Play” to draw deeper relations in representing the 23 design initiatives of the Good Design Research. Modelled like a design journal, the format further enforced the intimate connection and paved the way for visitors to be guided through each research step. This enabled a layered understanding of design through the lens of empowering a more inclusive and equitable environment for all of us.
In the same communicative vein, different hand-written typefaces were selected for the various projects. They functioned as a tool to give visitors “behind the scenes” access and step into the shoes of the designers for an experiential journey in lined-up programmes such as in-person talks, workshops and the pop-up exhibition.
