Spreading the word on Well-being for All
The ‘Well-being for All’ Evaluation Toolkit, since its launch in 2023, has been used by general members of the public as well as tertiary schools and organisations to inform, educate and equip people from all walks of life. In 2023, workshops were conducted for DesignSingapore Council – Singapore Design Week 2023 Community Events (SDW) and the Society of Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) Singapore Chapter. While in 2024, these schools are, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) – School of 3D Design and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) – School of Design and Environment as well as organisations such as the National Council of Social Service (NCSS)
Walkshop
Generally preferred by educational institutions, participants are normally from the same demographic and working towards a common goal. The style too, assists the participants in understanding the 12 Principles of Well-being and their application in the real world. The process is as follows:
Site Evaluation > Analysis and Well-being Evaluation > Solutions Brainstorm > Application
Deeper observations can be made from the selected site before evaluating well-being through the Traffic Light Scorecard. The results provide the user with a macro perspective before zooming into the different gaps within each of the 12 Principles of Well-being.
World Café
This format is favoured by larger institutions for its ability to stimulate quick engagements and ideating. Beyond that, the World Cafe encourages different departments to cross-pollinate for innovative strategies. Rather than having a pre-determined site, the format focuses on outlining the discussion with pre-designed questions. Main challenges are derived after consolidating the responses for targeted brainstorming.
Pre-designed Questions > Quick-fire Smaller Group Discussion > Derived Main Challenge(s) > Solutions Brainstorm
The beauty of the World Café format is that the group collectively influences the outcomes. This conducting style also requires the anonymity of participants to encourage more dynamic contributions of perspectives and reduced biases for a more authentic expression of the main challenge(s).
