Inspiring young, curious minds with art
The Gallery Children’s Biennale is a space for self-expression and creative exploration, empowering children with a renewed sense of empathy and confidence to engage with the ever-changing world around them while embracing the shared values of acceptance, openness and diversity.
This year, nine artists from Singapore and Southeast Asia were asked to address the theme, “Why Art Matters”. Faced with the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the gallery had to re-think the notion of engagement. In response, the artists were invited to conceive artworks as both online and on-site interactive works and physical installations.
With a range of programmes for children and families, the Gallery Children’s Biennale aim to inspire young minds with artistic experiences that can transform a child’s understanding of the world around them, and what is creatively possible.
