Creating a world built on care, respect, imagination and collaboration.

The Gallery Children’s Biennale has been a key programme of National Gallery Singapore since 2017, embodying the Gallery’s commitment to inspiring young, curious minds with art. It aims to explore the many ways that children can learn and play while also engaging more with the world around them.

This year, the Biennale features 11 interactive and immersive artworks responding to the theme of “Let’s Make A Better Place,” inviting children and adults to discover how we can create a world built upon this year’s core values of care, respect, imagination and collaboration.

Ten artists from Singapore and beyond conceived new artworks for the Biennale. These artists are: Arahmaiani (Indonesia), Chiang Yu Xiang (Singapore), International Museum of Children’s Art (Norway), Fadilah Karim (Malaysia), LittleCr3atures® (Singapore) x Jevon Chandra (Singapore/Indonesia) x Lynette Quek (Singapore), Tawatchai Puntusawasdi (Thailand), Izziyana Suhaimi (Singapore), Wang Ruobing (Singapore), Kumi Yamashita (Japan/USA), and Ly Yeow (Singapore).

Centred on art created for, with, and by children, the Biennale is a warm and welcoming space for everyone to have conversations about their dreams, ideas, and even struggles. This edition also includes both digital and on-site programmes that will inspire visitors of all ages.

La Biennale des Enfants est un programme clé de la National Gallery Singapore depuis 2017, incarnant l’engagement du musée à inspirer avec l’art les jeunes esprits curieux. Il vise à explorer les nombreuses façons dont les enfants peuvent apprendre et jouer tout en interagissant davantage dans le monde qui les entoure.

Cette année en 2023, la Biennale présente 11 œuvres d’art interactives et immersives répondant au thème “Créons un monde meilleur”, invitant les enfants et les adultes à découvrir comment nous pouvons créer ensemble ce monde fondé sur les valeurs fondamentales de l’empathie, du respect, de l’imagination et de la collaboration.

Dix artistes de Singapour et d’ailleurs ont conçu de nouvelles œuvres pour la Biennale. Centrée sur l’art créé pour, avec et par les enfants, la Biennale est un espace chaleureux et accueillant où chacun peut échanger librement sur ses rêves, ses idées et même ses difficultés. Cette édition comprend également des programmes numériques et sur place qui inspireront les visiteurs de tous âges.
