The People’s Museum aims to be the platform for everyday people and objects, across all generations.
We are all part of a story that is larger than ourselves— a story that connects us to our elders, our heritage, and our fellow Singaporeans. A story that is embedded in the everyday objects, experiences, and cultures of our lives. What better way to give these unacknowledged but invaluable pieces of history new life than to contribute them to an online collective gallery of curious and intriguing items. “The People’s Museum” aims to be the platform for everyday people and objects, across all generations. To create a place for sharing these compelling stories through community-driven contributions, for individuals to have meaningful and active participation in writing and remembering our histories.
In conjunction with the celebration of 200 years of medical history in Singapore, the first version edition of The People’s Museum is launched as a part of the Singapore HeritageFest, curating submissions that pertain to the public healthcare sector in Singapore through an open call.
